The cat made me bang into a glass of water which drenched my laptop. I don't know if it will work or not, trying to dry it out right now... I probably won't know until tomorrow. I'm not getting my hopes up.

I wanted to replace it after this summer anyhow. I bought it in 2004 around this time of year so it's a full 6 years old and even surfing the net/chatting online was getting to be on the slower side. All I really used it for these days was net surfing, light image editing (because Photoshop was so slow on it) and chatting online.

I'm a bit upset right now --; Kinda glad Toygar isn't here because I will be inconsolable for a while. I'm upset that it happened, mad how it happened, and I just wasn't ready to part with it in general yet. I was trying to save us money by putting off replacing it.

Toygar would probably offer to let me use his, but I don't want to... It's one thing for me to ruin MINE it's even WORSE if I ruin his...

I guess I'll either move the big PC downstairs or turn up the volume on AIM and go upstairs to look when I have messages for the next 3 weeks :\

*sighs*

It's the waiting that's the worst part... I still really don't know if it's officially dead. I'm going to have a rough night -_-;

If it makes you feel any better, I dropped my cell phone in the sink while washing dishes and it survived. ^^;

It took a full 24hrs to dry, and I popped the battery out and took off the chassis too.

Hopefully your laptop will be okay. :}

Yeah... looks like it won't be though :\ Tried it this morning, got nothing. I put it in the closet because I just don't want to even look at it (can't throw it out until I remove/destroy the hard drive anyhow). I feel a little better about it today but I'm still mad at myself for ruining something that "worked." I'm kinda blaming myself a lot here...

Though honestly: it's 6 years old (got it around April of 2004), it has a DVD player/CD burner -- so it doesn't even burn DVDs, I've had to format/reinstall things on it 3 times this year alone, it's slow and has trouble even doing internet stuff sometimes, it's heavy, it runs hot, and Toygar has told me 3 times already to go get a new one (after watching me bitch about reinstalls).

I was only using it to save us some money and put off the inevitable. It could just as easily stopped working one day for no reason at all.

So, maybe when we get back from Turkey I'll get a new one. I'm going to miss having it by my side though... it was nice for lounging (even if it was old/heavy).

Toygar still hasn't written back to me about it <<; I wonder if he's waiting to call me, or if he's worried I'm still on a rampage about it (I get mad when electronics don't work). I actually wasn't MAD this time I felt ill over it and worried about it ALL DAY yesterday. It kinda ruined my Sunday and I couldn't think of ANYTHING else --;

Sleeping on it has helped, I'm not as upset today, just feeling sad...
